What we collect
We aim to collect only what is needed to provide and improve the App.
A. Information you provide
- Study content you create, such as custom study sets, notes, and quiz progress.
- Support communications you send us by email or in-app.
- No sign-up is required. The App signs you in anonymously on first launch and assigns a random account identifier. We never ask for your name, email, or a password to use the App. Your quiz progress and uploaded protocol documents are stored against that anonymous identifier.
- Display name (optional). If you play Compete, the arcade name you choose is visible to other players on the leaderboard and in match history. Pick any name you like — it is not linked to your real identity, and it is filtered for offensive language.
B. Information collected automatically
- Device and app diagnostics such as crash reports, error logs, app version, operating system version, device model, and approximate timestamps to help us diagnose issues and improve reliability.
- Basic usage analytics, if enabled, such as aggregate counts of feature use and screen opens. We do not collect precise location, contact lists, photos, or microphone data unless you choose a feature that requires it.
- Advertising data — if you choose to watch a rewarded ad, our ad partner collects data as described in the "Advertising" section below. We do not read your advertising identifier ourselves, though the ad partner's SDK may access it; see that section for details.
- Install source — when you install from an app store, we read the install referrer once to understand which marketing campaign brought you to the App.
C. Purchases
When you buy a subscription, Apple or Google processes your payment. We receive non-sensitive purchase metadata such as transaction identifiers and entitlement status to provide your access. We do not receive your full payment card details.
D. No patient or health records
The App is an educational tool and is not intended for patient care. We do not ask for or store patient information or protected health information.
How we use information
- To provide core features, including quizzes and scenarios and saving your progress locally, and to validate subscription access.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App, including diagnostics and performance.
- To communicate with you about updates, support, and policy changes.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and misuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
Where applicable, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the App and any subscription you purchase), legitimate interests (to ensure security, fix bugs, and understand overall performance), and consent (for optional analytics where required). You can withdraw consent in settings if offered or by contacting us.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
- We share information with service providers that host, analyze, or support the App under contracts that limit their use to our instructions. These are Google Firebase (anonymous authentication, database, file storage, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications), Unity Ads (rewarded video ads on the free tier), and RevenueCat (subscription and entitlement management).
- We may share information to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and security.
- If our company undergoes a change such as a merger or asset sale, information may be transferred subject to this Policy or you will be notified of changes.
Data retention
- Crash and server logs are typically kept for up to 90 days unless needed longer to investigate issues.
- Local content such as your PDFs or notes stored on your device remains until you delete it.
- Data linked to your anonymous account — quiz progress, uploaded protocol documents, and any Compete display name — is retained while the account is in use and removed after you delete your account from the Profile screen.
Your choices and rights
- You can use the App without giving us your name, email, or a password.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time from the Profile screen inside the App.
- If analytics controls are provided, you may disable optional analytics in settings.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or to exercise rights under applicable laws. EEA/UK users may also request restriction, portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to our App, including transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and restricted server access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 where applicable. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
International data transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Advertising
The App shows rewarded video ads served by Unity Ads (Unity Technologies). Ads are optional and never interrupt you: on the free tier, generating a scenario, algorithm test, or protocol comparison can be unlocked by choosing to watch a short video. We do not display banner or interstitial ads. Premium subscribers skip the ads entirely.
Data collected by Unity Ads
To serve ads, Unity Ads may collect and process:
- IP address and approximate location (city-level)
- Device information (model, operating system, screen size)
- Ad interaction data (impressions, views, completions)
This data is collected and processed by Unity under its own privacy policy. See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
Advertising identifiers
We do not read your advertising identifier ourselves. Nothing we have written requests the IDFA on iOS or the Android Advertising ID (AAID), and no advertising identifier is sent to our servers or stored against your account.
The Unity Ads SDK, however, may access the Android Advertising ID on its own in order to serve and measure ads. Including that SDK adds the corresponding Android permission to the app, so we disclose it in our Google Play Data safety section rather than claim it is absent. On Android you can reset or delete this identifier at any time in Settings › Google › Ads; deleting it stops apps from receiving it at all.
We do not use Google AdMob or any other ad network, we do not build advertising profiles about you, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Because we perform no cross-app tracking of our own, iOS does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Remove ads
A Premium subscription removes rewarded ads. Ads are the free-tier alternative to a subscription: on the free tier you can reach these generation features by watching a short video instead of paying.
App store disclosures
- Educational use only. The App is not a medical device and must not be used for patient care or real-time clinical decisions.
- Account deletion. The App creates an anonymous account automatically — you never enter an email or password. You can delete it at any time from the Profile screen, which erases your data from our servers and removes the anonymous account. An active subscription must be cancelled separately in the App Store or Play Store; the App links you there.
- The App shows rewarded video ads through Unity Ads on the free tier (see the Advertising section above). We do not read advertising identifiers ourselves and perform no cross-app tracking, so no iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown; the Unity Ads SDK may access the Android Advertising ID to serve ads, as disclosed in our Play Data safety section.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, where required, notify you in the App or on our site. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
